A vehicle accident at the intersection of Main and West Third streets Monday morning resulted in the passenger of one vehicle being transported to the hospital.

Farmville Fire Department, Farmville Police and Prince Edward County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to the incident, which took place between 11:15-11:30 a.m.

The driver of the white Toyota truck, Jacob Munyak, said he was driving from the Barnes & Noble at Longwood parking lot and preparing to take a left at the intersection when the green arrow appeared at the traffic light.

He reported that he did not see a vehicle approaching until he was in the process of turning left.

The vehicle came through the intersection. He reported that the vehicle appeared to be driving quickly and the two vehicles collided.

A representative with Farmville Police at the scene of the accident said the incident was a two-vehicle accident with injury and that they could not report any additional information.
