Members of the community are encouraged to ask questions, voice commendations and concerns, and suggest changes for Prince Edward County Public Schools (PECPS) during a series of public forums the school division will host beginning Sept. 19.

Meetings, which will range from being held at Rice Volunteer Fire Department, Darlington Heights Fire Department and the middle and high school libraries, will include discussion from PECPS Superintendent Dr. Barbara Johnson and prioritize hearing and taking suggestions from members of the community.

The first forum will begin Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Prince Edward County Middle School Library from 7:45-9 a.m.

The next forum, held at the Rice Volunteer Fire Department, will take place Monday, Sept. 24, from 6-7:15 p.m.

A forum Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Darlington Heights Volunteer Fire Department will take place from 7:45-9 a.m. and a forum at the Prince Edward County High School Library Friday, Nov. 5, will take place from 6-7:15 p.m.

Johnson said in the statement that the school division is looking forward to interacting with the community.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to engaging the public about our next steps as a division,” Johnson said.
