Virginia Citizens for a Safe Society is a newly formed organization to educate people on the statistics and dangers of assault weapons. The rationale behind the ability to purchase assault weapons is the Second Amendment and that denying such purchases is an affront to American freedom. Is it? What about the freedom of those who have been murdered by assault weapons? Perhaps people are afraid our country would become like Europe or Australia where people can walk down the streets without being shot. An arsenal of assault weapons would not protect people against an evil government. The promotion of assault weapons is based on fear and hate. Just think of the Christian heroes of Charlottesville. They are a good example. Wake up people.
