Garrett named pastor

Rev. Sherri Lynn Garrett, M.A.C.E., M.Div. has been named the new pastor at Historic Beulah African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 115 S. Main St., in Farmville. Garrett is a Wisconsin native with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconson. She received a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from the Union Theological Seminary in Richmond. She is working on a doctorate of ministry at Regent University.
Garrett has achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander having served in the Navy as a chaplain, staff chaplain, command chaplain and reserve chaplain and was stationed in Okinawa, Guam, Norfolk and Williamsburg. She also served for one year as chaplain resident at the Hampton VA Medical Center.
Rev. Garrett cares deeply about the souls of her flock and persons in need of salvation.
The scriptures she lives by is Proverbs: 3, 5-6; “Trust in the lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy way acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.”
