Local Marketing Consultant Offers 'Small Business Minute'

Kevin Jordan, a marketing consultant from Farmville and member of the Duct Tape Marketing Consultant Network, has recently started a daily small business podcast providing simple, affordable, and practical tips to small business owners. The free video podcast, entitled Small Business Marketing Minute, is currently the third-ranked video podcast in iTunes in the “New and Noteworthy” section of the business category.

Episodes of the podcast, which are typically 2-5 minutes long, focus on a specific marketing tip, concept, or real-life success story. “I know how busy small business owners are, so I wanted to produce something that could be consumed quickly and easily on a variety of platforms,” said Jordan. “My podcast episodes get right to the point and give business owners an idea they can take action on immediately—in many cases, even the same day.”

The short length of the podcast episodes stems in part from Jordan’s frustration with the typical podcast format. “When I searched for good business and marketing podcasts, I noticed most of them had episodes ranging anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. I just don’t have time to sit through a 30 minute podcast to get one good tip,” he said. Jordan noticed that even in the case of hour-long podcasts, the key points could easily be summarized in under five minutes. He decided to create a podcast that focuses just on the key points, while letting those who want to learn more know where they can go to do that.

Shorter episodes aren’t the only unique aspect of Small Business Marketing Minute. Unlike most podcasts, Jordan’s podcast uses video rather than just audio as a communications medium. This will allow him to occasionally do screencasts to demonstrate an online tool or application that business owners might find helpful. He’ll also be able to do on-camera interviews with business owners who have had success using tips they heard on the podcast.

Business owners interested in subscribing to the free podcast can find it listed in iTunes under the Management and Marketing category, or they can subscribe to the Redpoint Marketing Consultants YouTube channel–all the episodes will be posted in both locations. Jordan is currently offering all podcast subscribers three bonus gifts as a thank-you for subscribing, including a free ebook, two free workbooks, and lifetime access to his Video Marketing 101 course. Details about the bonus gifts can be found in the first episode of the podcast. Additional questions about the podcast should be directed to Kevin Jordan at 866-245-6098.
