RICE, July 17 – Dorothy Louise Spencer, 71, of Rice, passed away on July 16, 2014.

She was born on July 17, 1942 in Billington, WV, to the late Lawson and Alice Hall Wentz.

Mrs. Spencer attended New Life Assembly of God Church in Farmville. She loved working in her flowers, reading books and taking care of her family, especially cooking. She had a strong faith and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and best friend.

She is survived by her husband, John; five sons, Jeff Spencer of Rice, Greg Spencer of Idaho, Dan Spencer of Prospect, Kenny Spencer of Buckingham, and Rob Spencer of CA; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2 p.m., in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home.
