The Scottsville Bridge crossing the James River between Buckingham and Albemarle was lined with children and adults Friday night, anxiously awaiting the annual fireworks show held by the Town of Scottsville. The bursts of color not only illuminated the river, but the eyes of children and the hearts of adults, offering a patriotic hope, just as they did for the American soldiers in the War of 1812 and Francis Scott Key, illuminating broad stripes and bright stars.
