RESTON, July 3 — Charles R. Johnson passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Reston after a long illness.

He was a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in civil engineering. He owned his own engineering business in Reston.

He is survived by his wife, Kay of Reston; his twin sister, Lois Southall and husband, Gene of Farmville; brother, Thomas L. Johnson and his wife, Val of Vienna; sister, Gladys Mathews and husband, Larry of Chesapeake; aunt, Pauline Dunnavant of Farmville; nieces, Kathy Bailey, Cindy McPherson of Farmville, Sara Johnson of Vienna, and Christine Napalitano of Chesapeake; nephews, Robert McPherson Jr. and wife, Barbara of Virginia Beach, and David Johnson and wife, Shannon of Vienna. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Roscoe and Alma Dunnavant Johnson and an uncle, Glenn Dunnavant.

Family will receive friends on July 7 at the Green Funeral Home in Herndon from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. with a memorial service to follow.
