The Prince Edward Christmas Mother organization is proud to announce that Navona Hart will be serving as the 2018 Christmas Mother.
“Navona already plays such an active role in the community with the giving of her time and resources. We are very excited that she is this year’s Christmas Mother,” stated Lauren Showalter, President of the organization.
The role of the Christmas Mother is to be the face of the organization by representing the group and its mission and to help with fundraising and relationship-building within the community.
The Prince Edward Christmas Mother is a nonprofit charitable organization formed in 2016 with the purpose of serving Prince Edward County by providing for those in need with clothes, toys, books, and other gift items during the winter holiday season.
“I am honored to have been selected for this opportunity to serve such a worthy cause and I am excited to kick off our fundraising campaign in the community,” stated Hart.
Hart moved to Farmville in 2002 with her husband, David, and their two sons, Kyle and Matthew. She established her real estate business, Real Living Cornerstone, in 2007.
She quickly began getting involved and volunteering in the community and as she did, she began to fall in love with the new place that she called home.
Hart has actively participated and worked with the Heart of Virginia Festival, The Rotary Club of Farmville, Longwood Center for the Visual Arts, and Piedmont Senior Resources, among others.
Last year, the Prince Edward Christmas Mother organization fundraised $30,000 and served more than 280 children in Prince Edward County.
