James and Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland, visited in the home of Billy and Louise Boyles in Amelia on Tuesday, May 20.

The annual Hudgins family reunion was held at the home of James and Virginia Boyles in Cumberland. A large crowd attended and enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship and special music featuring Worm Patterson and All Problems Solved.

Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, Susie Taylor, of Dillwyn, along with Patricia Woodfin, of New Canton, all enjoyed an afternoon of great food and fellowship at a Charlottesville restaurant on Wednesday, May 21 in honor of Susie Taylor’s 56th birthday.

Maranatha Baptist Church, located on Tuggle Road in Prince Edward will be hosting Missionary Sunday on May 25. Mike Ward, a missionary to Africa will be presenting messages on missions during the 10 a.m. Sunday school hour, 11 a.m. morning worship hour, and Sunday evening 6 p.m. service. Buckingham Baptist Church, located on North James Madison Highway, will host a benefit spaghetti dinner for the youth ministry fund on Friday evening, May 23 from 6-8 p.m.

Dinner will include homemade spaghetti, garlic bread, tossed salad, dessert and a drink. A suggested donation for adult is $7 and $3 for children. Meals are takeout or eat-in.
