Dr. James B. Gates, local sportsman and veterinarian, was the guest speaker at the annual spring banquet of the Judith Randolph-Longwood Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which was held at Charley’s Waterfront Cafe on May 10. The topic of Gates’ discussion was titled “Climbing the Mountain,” a presentation about his trip to Tanzania where he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.
