The Prospect Historical Society is selling raffle tickets for an 8-by-12 foot shed (by Buggy Top); STIHL MS170 powersaw and $50 cash. Members of the society have tickets as well as Merk’s Place. The drawing will take place July 3.
Richard and Margaret Stockton enjoyed dinner with Don and Betty Meadows and Shirley and George Moore on Friday night at Merk’s Place. It is always good to share a meal with friends.
Margaret Stockton enjoyed a visit with Mildred Shanks by way of telephone on Sunday afternoon. Mildred and Margaret were best of friends from the third grade through high school graduation and beyond.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith and their children enjoyed having his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith over for dinner on Saturday evening.
The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold its annual chicken supper May 19 at the Prospect Fire Station from 5-7 p.m., the cost is a donation.
The class of 1956 held its monthly luncheon on Wednesday at the Golden Palace. Classmates Jo Smith and Margaret Stockton were present along with special friends Nancy Dickerson, Fred Floyd and Richard Stockton.
Friends and neighbors continue to pray for Henry Shelton, Don Meadows, Fred Floyd and Betty Jean Bolt. Friends and neighbors are extending their heartfelt sympathy to the family of Weldon Covington.
