The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary asks you to mark your calendar for Saturday for its next meal, a spaghetti supper. Price is a donation. Remember they need your support so if you have a fire they will be able to come and fight your fire.

On Saturday the Prince Edward United Methodist Men are having a Fish Fry at Mt. Pleasant at 4 p.m. Eat in or takeout. Saturday the Pamplin Chapter No. 58, O.E.S. will have a spaghetti supper at the Pamplin Fire House at 4 p.m. Eat in or takeout. The Prospect Historical Society has raffle tickets for a 8×12 shed, by Buggy Top; a STIHL MS170 power saw and $50 cash. Members of the society have tickets as well as Merk’s Place.

The Prospect Happy Hats held its April get-together on Saturday. Betty Meadows and Dolly Worthy were the hostesses. The evening started with dinner at Merk’s Place followed by attending “Gaslight.” A fun filled night. Those attending with Betty and Dolly were Carol Schall, Jeannette Tarlton, Lois Johnson, Hilda Allen, Elsie Wilson, Margaret Stockton and guest, Laurie Justus, Bill Schall, Don Meadows and Richard Stockton.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Meadows spent the weekend of April 14 in Richmond. They attended the rehearsal dinner and the marriage of their grandson, Zackary. The rehearsal dinner was held at Tarrant’s West with family and friends. The marriage took place at the Wellesley Community Center in Henrico County on Saturday. Zackary and Nikayla were married in a beautiful outdoor setting by the lake. There were approximately 70 guests and family members celebrating the event.

Cindy Hendricks of the Rice area enjoyed a visit on Sunday afternoon from Flora Bolt.

Richard and Margaret Stockton enjoyed a full week of activities last week starting on Tuesday night as they attended the Longwood University’s Win Symphony directed by Dr. Gordon Ring and the Jazz Ensemble directed by Dr. Charles Kinzer. On Thursday, they had dinner with their son and his family, Lon, Mary Jo, Sean and Michelle. Friday they attended the Roy G. Biv at Red Door 104 in which their grandson Sean Stockton won first place in his age group. They attended the birthday party for George Moore at Merk’s Place. Saturday night found them having dinner with the Prospect Happy Hats followed by seeing the production of “Gaslight” directed by Don Blaheta. On Sunday they attended the Edith Elliotte Recital Series presented by Randy Elkins, organist at the Farmville Presbyterian Church.

Friends and neighbors continue to pray for Pat Smith, Don Meadows, Fred Floyd and Betty Jean Bolt.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites you to worship with them each Sunday. Richard Boswell will be the guest speaker on Sunday, May 8.
