Prince Edward County High School Biology teacher Torian Jones always adds a bright touch to the school’s second floor Science Department. Her current creation is a decorated door that features a spring growth comparison. The message on the door says “You do not just wake up and become the butterfly — growth is a process!” Jones says she got the idea for the door by thinking about how her own teaching has been a growth process. “And I have seen a lot of my students grow this year,” she said. The door has generated many positive comments, from both students and staff alike. Jones is a graduate of Prince Edward County High School and Norfolk State University.
