With its season on the line and facing a 3-0 hole, the No. 9 Longwood University women’s tennis team flipped the script, stunning No. 8 Gardner-Webb University 4-3 in first round action of the Big South Tournament on Wednesday.

The match was capped off by a three-set comeback from sophomore Marija Venta at the third flight.

The Lancers moved on to play host No. 1 Winthrop University on Thursday in the quarterfinals for the second straight season.
