Lancer Field at Longwood University attracted a large crowd of people from the community and abroad Sunday to be part of the first-ever nationally televised sporting event in Farmville. The event that aired on ESPNU and ESPNews was a regular season battle between the top two softball teams in the Big South Conference — Liberty University and Longwood. Down 2-0, the Lancers thrilled the home crowd by hitting home runs to come back for a 3-2 series-clinching triumph.
