On Saturday, March 10, more than a dozen Buckingham County gardeners, and aspiring gardeners, braved a chilly morning to gather at the Extension Service Office in Buckingham to learn the latest on intensive, small space gardening.

The presentation was sponsored by the Virginia Cooperative Extension (VEC) Service and conducted by the Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners. Extension Master gardener interns Kelly Love-Schwartz and Jackie Fairbarns, took turns presenting information on effective gardening techniques starting with building up the soil to harvesting the crop.

Answering questions following the presentation, were VCE Master Gardeners Elsie Towler and Glenda Harris. The Saturday 10 a.m., session of the monthly Gardening Tips and Topics will discuss techniques for using herbicides for weed control.
