Longwood University junior Jessica Smith, pictured above, helped propel the Lancers softball team to a 2-1 Big South Conference series win against visiting Campbell over the weekend. The Lancers opened the series Friday with a 15-4 win. In Saturday’s doubleheader, they fell 3-1 in 10 innings and then won 10-1. In the final game, Smith hit her third homer of the season and was one of three Lancers with two hits. After hosting Hampton on Tuesday, Longwood (20-11) hosts Elon for a doubleheader Wednesday at 4 p.m.
