A tractor-trailer hauling logs was involved in an accident Friday morning, damaging an electric crosswalk sign at the intersection of Main and West Third streets. T. Holtz, a patrolman with the Farmville Police Department, said at the scene that the truck from Seth Reid Jones Systems “made a right turn” to enter West Third Street and “clipped the crosswalk sign.” Holtz said the Town of Farmville will repair the crosswalk sign, The cost for repairs will be reimbursed by the trucking company’s insurance carrier. The sign has since been repaired.
