Hampden-Sydney College’s (H-SC) lacrosse team routed visiting Randolph College 22-6 on Saturday afternoon, improving to 4-0 in the month of March. Entering Tuesday’s game in Alexandria against Cabrini University, the Tigers held a 7-2 overall record for the 2018 season. The outcome of Saturday’s game against the WildCats was never in doubt as Hampden-Sydney scored nine goals in the first quarter. It added six in the second, six more in the third and one in the fourth. Every available Tiger saw action on the field during the course of the game. H-SC senior attackman Ian Levin, No. 11 pictured above, led all players with six points on two goals and four assists. Junior attackman Seamus Byrne posted five points on three goals and two assists. The trio of freshman Jake Brummett, senior Wilson Booth and freshman Michael Thornton, a former Fuqua School standout, went 24-for-32 on face-offs with 20 ground balls — one more ground ball than the entire WildCat squad. Senior midfielder Hunter Brown contributed a hat trick, and freshman attackman Jake O’Brien found the back of the net twice and helped on another score, among many other standouts. H-SC visits Washington and Lee University on Friday at 7 p.m.
