The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, will host its regular monthly meeting April 2 at 5 p.m. at Hatcher Baptist Church of Cumberland. All members are asked to bring a covered dish for the meal. Following will be the April program which will feature the annual flower/plant exchange. Buckingham Baptist Church, U.S. Route 15 north of Dillwyn, 24234 North James Madison Highway, will be hosting Easter weekend as follows: Good Friday services on March 30 at 7 p.m., Take a walk through the Holy Week and celebrate the Lord’s Table. Saturday, March 31 Easter egg hunt and Spring Festival at 2 p.m. Easter Sunday, April 1 Sunrise Services to begin at 7 a.m. Following is breakfast in the church fellowship hall, followed by Sunday School and no morning worship. The regular monthly meeting of the Cumberland County Board of Supervisors is held the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Circuit Court room unless otherwise announced.

Cedar Baptist Church, l3932 Bell Road, Dillwyn, will host Easter weekend activities as follows: Good Friday services March 30 at 7 p.m. There will be an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 31 beginning at 11 a.m. with lunch being served. On Easter Sunday, April 1, there will be Sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. followed by breakfast in the fellowship hall. There will be no Sunday School and worship service will be at 8 a.m. with no 11 a.m. service. Pastor Tommy Armstrong and the entire congregation cordially invites everyone to attend.

A large crowd attended a surprise birthday supper in honor of Annie May Mile’s 82nd birthday on Thursday, March 15, at Pino’s Italian Restaurant. Everyone had a nice time.

Victory Baptist Church, 157 Dove Lane in Spout Springs, will host Easter sunrise services on Sunday, April 1 at 7 a.m. Following will be breakfast and an Easter egg hunt at the Woodman of the World building located at 365 Harold St. in Appomattox, then back to the Church at 10:30 a.m. for morning worship. A speedy recovery is sent out this week to all those who are sick and shut in.

Grace Ownby would like to send best wishes and a big “Hello” to all her family and friends. Grace is recovering nicely after a fall in November. She is getting around well and looking forward to getting out more. North Carolina weather is much like Virginia, so we are all looking to Spring.
