BUCKINGHAM — The deceased white male discovered on Tuesday, February 11 in a remote section of woods off of Midland Road near Wingina has been identified, according to a press release from the Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office.

“The deceased white male found…in a remote section of woods in Wingina, Buckingham County, has been positively identified as Gary Lee Christian, age 44, a resident of the area,” the release from Sheriff William “Billy” Kidd explains.

“The investigation into the death of Christian is on-going, but new investigative leads indicate that there were no signs of foul play. Final autopsy results are pending from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond,” the release cites.

“Anyone that may have additional information concerning this case is asked to contact the Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office at 434-969-1772.”

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, February 11, “The Buckingham County Emergency Communication Center received a telephone call in reference to a deceased white male discovered in a wooded area off of Midland Road in the Wingina area of Buckingham County. Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office responded and were led into a remote section of woods by several hunters who found the deceased,” the release states.
