Stew sale set

The regular monthly meeting of the Cumberland County Board of Supervisors is held the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Circuit Court Room unless otherwise announced.
Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to the following people: Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, who will be 82 years young on Saturday; Earl Swink, of Farmville, on Sunday; Larry Boyles, of Dillwyn, on Monday; and Lois Bickford, of Farmville, Thursday.
A speedy recovery is sent out this week to all those who are sick and shut in.
Welcome home to Grace Martin, of Dillwyn, and Junior Midkiff, of Cumberland. Both have been hospitalized and are undergoing therapy for an extended period.
Buckingham United Methodist Church, consisting of Browns, Hanes and Rocky Mount Youth Department, will host a benefit Brunswick stew sale Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. at Brown’s Chapel or Advance Auto Parts at Dillwyn. Mae Rutherford, of Cumberland, celebrated her 97th birthday on Friday, March 9. Attending lunch in her honor at Pino’s Italian Restaurant were her sister Grace Hudgins of Cumberland, Barry and Linda Miles also, of Cumberland, Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, and Rutherford’s nephew and his wife Danny and Arlene Figgens, of Front Royal. Everyone had a nice time.
