Complicity in Florida massacre

My generation of American Jews was raised on the idea that to save one life is as to save the world and that we have a duty to help heal the world. Those precepts continue to drive me and my three daughters whose fierce dedication to humanity inspires me. I hope that any American adult, especially other Jews, who did not speak out against the proliferation of assault rifles and who did not speak out to demand that the mentally ill not have access to guns think afresh about all that. I was among the silent, and I am now ashamed. I wish it were not so, but it turns out that silence equals complicity.
