Banned Books & Brews Fundraiser Set For Feb. 1
Published 3:53 pm Tuesday, January 21, 2014
The VCBF is holding a Banned Books and Brews fundraiser on Feb. 1, 7-10 p.m. at the Fuqua School Commons with notable readers, special guests, banned book trivia, and beer from Blue Mountain Brewery and Devil’s Backbone. Chop Suey Books in Richmond will set up a banned bookstore at the event.
While it is true that not every book is intended for every reader the VCBF firmly believes that each of us has the right to decide for ourselves and our children what to read, listen to or view.
Get tickets at the following locations: The Highlight Zones, Rochette’s Florists, The Bakery, The Sweet Shop, Carter’s Flower Shop, Hampden-Sydney College Bookstore, Barnes and Noble, Yardscapes, Moton Museum, Jenkins Blue and Gray, Caryn’s Bridal, and Benchmark Community Bank. The event is a fundraiser for the Virginia Children’s Book Festival.
