Organizers with Farmville’s Got Talent, which had its semifinal round Monday, have announced seven of its semifinalists, who hail from the Town of Farmville, Longwood and Cumberland County.
“After a great response rate from the members in and around the community, our Farmville’s Got Talent Judging Panel has selected seven semifinalists to perform in Farmville’s Got Talent,” Organizer and Longwood Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement Steve Robertson said.
The event will take place Monday at 7 p.m. at Willett Hall during the Longwood men’s basketball game against Campbell.
“The semifinalists include four singers and three variety acts ranging from ages 15 to 61,” Robertson said in an email. “Our singers include Ramir Parker, from Cumberland County, Farmville resident with a strong voice Shatina Ford, Longwood Theater student Garrett Reese and our most-seasoned contestant, Cathy Allen-Williams.”
“As for the variety acts, we have the guitar and violin duo of local performing group Powers & Brown, the extreme jump-roping of Longwood business student Hannah Prem, and last but not least, Justin Williams, who will be performing poi dancing. As a performance art, poi involves swinging tethered weights through a variety of rhythmical and geometric patterns,” Robertson said.
