Herbert ‘Bear’ Lann Jr.

Herbert “Bear” Lann Jr. passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017. Bear entered this life June 2, 1952 and was a lifelong resident of Dillwyn.
Bear was a dedicated employee for Central Virginia Maintenance Pipeline Services for over 35 years.
Bear is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Susie; his daughter, Tracie Wright and her husband, Travis; his sister Brenda Lann Hall and her husband, Jeffrey; three granddaughters, Tessa, Gabrielle and Savannah Wright; his devoted dog, Trent, friends and co-workers.
Bear was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert A. Lann, Sr. and Selma Taylor Lann.
Susie and family would like to acknowledge all the loving assistance they have received these past weeks, especially from her brother, Kenneth “Punk” Call and his wife, Evelyn; dear friends, Gordon and Susan Goolsby and the work crew at Central Virginia Maintenance Pipeline Services.
Bear loved Jesus and his family above all else. When remembering Bear, you only need to remember that Bear may have looked rough but he had the heart of a saint. He was a gentle giant and was loved by all.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in the Buckingham Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday night from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckingham County Rescue Squad.
