E. H. Griffin, Jr. Held 2 P.M. Monday

BUCKINGHAM, May 18 -Earl “Bug” Hastings Griffin, Jr., of Buckingham died Friday, May 14, 2004 at McGuire Veterans Hospital.
He was born January 4, 1923 in Shipman, a son of the late Earl H. Griffin, Sr. and Mary Tyler Griffin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Gregory Griffin, a brother, Tommie C. Griffin and a step-granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Micklem.
Mr. Griffin was a veteran of World War II. He served in Africa and Italy, where he was wounded. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8446 and past deacon of Mulberry Grove Baptist Church, of which he was a dedicated member and worker.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice M. Griffin; a son, Bruce Hastings Griffin of Appomattox; stepsons, Patrick E. Micklem and wife, Joyce of Appomattox and Glenn Micklem and wife, Stephanie of Madison Heights; stepdaughter, Rhonda Simpson and husband, Allen of Stafford; two grandchildren; seven step-grand-children; three sisters, Lucille Diehr of Manassas, Bernice Wells of Shipman and Gwen Wood and husband, Robert of Charlottesville.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday at Mulberry Grove Baptist Church.
Arrangements were by Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn.
