Do you have your ticket to “Aladdin”? If you do not have them you had better hurry, the production is Friday and Saturday. There are two shows on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith traveled to Hopewell on Saturday to meet with their daughter, Mrs. Emma Sharpe and her son, Jeffrey. They enjoyed having lunch at Rosa’s Italian Restaurant to celebrate Jeffrey’s 11th birthday, which was Dec. 6.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton joined Don and Betty Meadows and George and Shirley Moore for supper at Merk’s Place on Saturday following the Stockton’s duties at the Waterworks production of “Aladdin.” Each event was most enjoyable.

Three ladies, Mrs. Jennifer Davidson, Ms. Dererae Bowlin and Mrs. Flora Bolt from the Farmville Chapter 45 United Daughters of the Confederacy attended the Christmas dinner meeting of the High Bridge Camp 1581 Sons of the Confederate Veterans at Charley’s Waterfront Café on Thursday, Nov. 16. The guest speaker was Art Wingo, of Richmond. He spoke on “Hospital Chimborazo” during the Civil War. Richmond National Battlefield Park stands in about the middle of the old hospital grounds. It was one of the largest military hospitals in its time. Normally there were 3000 in the hospital at one time, there were about 120 buildings on the grounds. The ladies each won a door prize.

Sunday, Dec. 10, Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian church will have their annual Christmas dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Christmas program directed by Mrs. Shirley Robertson.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for William “Bill” Whitter, Frances Southall, Randy Martin and Betty Jean Bolt.

The members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite you to worship with them each Sunday. Mr. Henry Fulcher will fill the pulpit on Sunday.
