The surging University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) men’s basketball team turned the tables on short-handed Longwood University after halftime Tuesday evening and pulled out a 71-40 win at the UNCG Classic at Greensboro Coliseum.
The Spartans (4-1) took control of a game that was evenly matched through the first half, despite the Lancers going into battle without the Big South’s second-leading scorer, redshirt junior guard Isaiah Walton, and key redshirt sophomore forward Jahleem Montague due to injuries.
“We competed, but our lack of depth in the second half caught up to us,” said Longwood Head Coach Jayson Gee.
The Lancers (0-4) faced the University of Delaware on Wednesday, and they host North Carolina Wesleyan College on Sunday at 3 p.m.
