On Oct. 19 the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Local Chapter 2080 hosted a briefing on Project Lifesaver, which is a public safety program designed to protect and locate missing persons due to wandering. Briefers were Tony Taylor from the Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office and Lt. Jimmy Farley from the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office. Pictured are, from left, Taylor, Farley, Duane Benton, president of NARFE 2080; and Becky Bowling, NARFE speaker’s chair. For additional information on NARFE, call Benton at (434) 315-0060, and for more information on Project Lifesaver, call the Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office at (434) 969-1772. We commend the members of NARFE and the Buckingham and Prince Edward sheriff’s offices for making our community a safer place to live.
