VDOT issues traffic alert

LYNCHBURG — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has released a traffic alert for Nov. 6-10 for counties throughout the Heart of Virginia. According to a press release, Cumberland County will see surface treatment where traffic control devices and flaggers will direct traffic. In Buckingham County, crews will perform sign maintenance on U.S. Route 60. In Prince Edward County, U.S. Route 460 West over Briery Creek will see the use of only one 14-foot lane during deck repairs. The release cited signs and other traffic control devices in place. Route 651 over Harris Creek will be closed for bridge replacement; the detour will be along routes 626, 460 and 608 back to 651. On Route 691, 705 and 784, road crews will begin preparation for rural rustic projects.
