Gardeners will prep for spring

Are you ready to tuck your garden in for winter?
The next Master Gardeners’ Lunch and Learn program will offer suggestions for closing out this growing season along with thoughts on preparing for next spring.
LouAnn Dumminger, a Heart of Virginia Master Gardener, will cover topics such as “to clean or not to clean,” pruning, soil amendments, extending harvests and taking care of tools.
Dumminger is a native of Tidewater. She is a graduate of Longwood University and has spent most of her life in Prince Edward County. She enjoys container and perennial gardening and is an active garden club member.
The Lunch and Learn Program is at noon on Thursday in the conference room of the Prince Edward County Virginia Cooperative Extension Office, 100 Dominion Drive, Farmville.
It is free and open to the public.
