Dukes win home cross country meet against district foes

Cumberland County High School’s varsity boys cross country team was victorious in the meet that it hosted Oct. 18.
The Dukes produced a team score of 20, Randolph-Henry High School came in second with a 51, Bluestone High School claimed third with a 111 and Prince Edward placed fourth with a 114.
The top five individual boys finishers included senior Nasheim Pettus, of Randolph-Henry, taking first, senior Hunter Cochran, of Cumberland, taking second, junior Justin Stimpson, of Cumberland, taking third, sophomore Tony Ingram, of Cumberland, taking fourth, and senior Muhammad Fulani, of Cumberland, taking fifth.
The Dukes competed Wednesday at Occoneechee State Park in the district championships.
