Arthur Henoch

Arthur Henoch, age 92 of Dillwyn, VA passed away on Oct. 3, 2017. He was born on Sept. 3, 1925 in Santa Barbara, CA, a son of the late Nathaniel Paul and Miriam Heine Henoch.

Art served his country during World War II by joining the U.S. Navy as soon as he graduated high school at 17. His father proudly accompanied  him and gave his permission for Art to enlist. Art served with Naval Air Transport for the duration of the war as an Aviation Machinist Mate Third Class.

When he returned to civilian life following honorable discharge, Art worked in various jobs until he was employed by the Santa Barbara Bus Company. With his extensive job experience in transportation, in 1964 he became a career manager with the California DMV and retired from State service in 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Martha E. Chappell, a son, Arthur Henoch, Jr., a sister, Evelyn H. Clements, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a steadily increasing number of great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Joseph Henoch, a sister, Mildred H. Asmann, daughter, Marie H. Calles and a son Michael Dennis Henoch.
