RICHMOND — Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced Tuesday that the “Find it in Farmville” campaign will receive $2,500 as part of more than $967,000 in matching grant funds that were awarded to 50 tourism initiatives as part of Virginia Tourism Corporation’s (VTC) Marketing Leverage Program.
According to a press release, the grant program helps local and regional tourism entities attract more visitors by leveraging limited local marketing dollars through a local match of state grant funds.
“(During) this funding cycle, local partners will commit more than $2.9 million to match the VTC grants, providing nearly $3.9 million in new marketing funds to increase visitation to Virginia,” officials said in the release. “The grants will impact 202 other statewide tourism entities.”
The “Find it in Farmville” campaign is a series of 30-second commercials put together by The Heart of Your Adventure (THOYA) regarding the community, marketing heritage, outdoor adventure, shopping and dining.
