A large gathering of community members, first responders, police, volunteer firemen and rescue squad personnel came together for the inaugural 9/11 Honor and Remembrance Ceremony, which sought to remember those who died in the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and honor those who work and volunteer for emergency response agencies. The event was organized by the American Legion Jack Garland Post 32. Before the event, members of the Farmville VFW Post posed for a photo.
