SOUTH HILL — The Southern Virginia GO Region 3 Council announced Wednesday that project ideas can be submitted for review now that the Region 3 Growth and Diversification Plan has been submitted to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). According to a press release, the State GO Virginia Board is reviewing the plan and will consider its approval at its next board meeting Tuesday.

The release cited that the plan identified three critical opportunities that will be framework through which the Region 3 Council determines how to invest its limited resources.

The critical opportunities include workforce talent development and recruitment, sectoral development and cyber infrastructure.

“From now until Sept. 15, the first phase of project solicitation will be an open period of accepting ideas from interested organizations and partners across Region 3,” officials said in the release.
