FARMVILLE — Longwood University students were notified of an alleged sexual assault that took place at campus housing between Aug. 28 and 29.

The sexual assault, according to the university’s crime log, is classified as a rape.

Longwood spokesman Matt McWilliams notified students via email that the incident reportedly took place in an on-campus housing complex on the evening of Aug. 28.

He noted in the email that the campus’ Title IX office is investigating the incident.
