Howard Ronald Walker, 77, of Burkeville, passed away, Wednesday, August 9th, 2017 at his home. Born September 8, 1939 in Blount Co. TN, he was a son of the late Lewis Clay and Opha Brickey Walker. Howard grew up in Cumberland Co. His family and friends were his greatest joy. He is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Cerveny and a brother, Brickey Walker. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Betty Frances Jones Walker, 3 sisters, Lois Mae Baber, of Mechanicsville, Anna Bella Mayer of Palmyra, Marjorie Walker White of Cleveland, NC, and a brother William (Jean) Walker of Sandston. Howard retired from Luck Stone in Burkeville with 35 years of service, he loved his work. Howard was a loved uncle by his many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted 12:00 Noon, Saturday, August 12th, 2017 from the chapel of Jennings-McMillian Funeral Home & Cremation Service 200 W. Carolina Ave., in Crewe. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Burkeville. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
