American Legion Junior Auxiliary forms

The Jack Garland American Legion Post 32 just started its first American Legion Junior Auxiliary. According to a press release, membership is open to girls from infancy through age 17. “Our Junior Auxiliary earn service patches while learning about Junior Auxiliary Programs,” officials said in the release. “Membership for our junior auxiliary is $5 for the year and they meet once a month.” The release cited the auxiliary was one of the largest women’s patriotic service organizations in the world. “We are the wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, granddaughters and great-granddaughters of veterans who served our great country during times of war,” officials said in the release. “Some of us are veterans ourselves.” According to the release, the auxiliary’s monthly meeting is the third Thursday of every month beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Farmville Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) post. “We invite all ladies who are interested in learning more about this program to contact us at farmvillealpost@aol.com or (434) 213-3661.” Members of the American Legion Junior Auxiliary pictured are, from left, front row, Addison Tobias, Skylar Price; back row, April Merkle, Chasity Hubbard, Nancy Pempel, Jennifer Tobias, Jenny Bobko, Melissa Bailey and Sarah Dunn.
