School supply night set

The Carl U. Eggleston Foundation, Prince Edward Elks Lodge 269 and Manhattan Temple 184 are sponsoring a back to school supplies night Aug. 8 at 5 p.m. in the Prince Edward Elks Lodge located in Farmville.
According to a press release, Prince Edward County Public Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Barbara Johnson, Farmville Police Chief Andy Ellington, Prince Edward County Sheriff Wesley Reed and Prince Edward County Director of Bus Transportation Torey Holmes have been invited to speak.
The release also cites free school supplies will be available for Kindergarten through fourth grade. Hot dogs and other refreshments will be served. Voter registration will also be available.
Suggested supply lists include, but are not limited to, Crayola crayons, one-inch three-ring binders, Elmer’s glue sticks, highlighters, pocket folders without clasps, marble composition books and boxes of No. 2 pencils.
