Ayres-Brown receives honors

Clifford Ayres-Brown, the grandson of the late Major James C. and Ruth H. Ayres, of Dillwyn, recently graduated from Henley Middle School in Charlottesville with honors.
“He was the youngest member of the National Society of Black Engineers in the Charlottesville Chapter,” officials said in the press release.
“He has been invited to speak on two occasions before the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors regarding his computer application inventions.”
According to the release, Ayres-Brown loves teaching like his grandmother, who taught in Buckingham County for almost 40 years.
“He is currently busy teaching at the Burley Middle School in Charlottesville this summer, showing students how to develop application programs for cell phones and computers,” officials said in the release. “He will also be attending the NSBE Academy at the University of Virginia this summer, where he has studied (in previous)summers for the last three years, including the Exxon Mobile Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp and the SEAS Academy.”
