CUMBERLAND — Cumberland County will see more services through the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) following an expansion of mobile operations to the county and Central Virginia.
According to a DMV press release, in addition to the mobile service centers, called DMV 2 GO that are traveling across the state, Central Virginia will see a new service outlet called DMV connect.
“DMV Connect is a portable outreach program that, like DMV 2 Go, brings services to busy Virginians,” officials said in the release. “Everything DMV Connect needs to operate packs up into a portable suitcase and can be set up anywhere.”
The release cited DMV Connect will be open in Cumberland at the courthouse between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on July 20.
According to the release, DMV connect provides common DMV transactions, including driver’s licenses, ID cards for children, adults and veterans, vehicle title and registrations, compliance summaries, disabled parking placards and E-ZPass transponders.
“A full-service DMV 2 Go mobile office continues to make rounds through Central Virginia providing all DMV transactions,” officials said in the release.
