In referencing the worldwide “A Day Without a Woman” strike for equality held in March, the author of a letter to the editor in your paper recently asked the following question: On what day can the men in America do the same thing (“Equality at only certain times,” May 12)?
The answer to his question is: Any day they so choose.
The same letter writer continued his letter assailing the fact that thousands of female soldiers were not killed in combat in World War II — only thousands of men. I will remind the letter writer of this fact: until 2016, women were officially prohibited from serving in combat.
