Kiana Williams, college adviser with the Virginia College Advising Corps, far left, and Kelly Chambersight, GRASP financial adviser, both resource staff at Buckingham County High School, were just a few of the presenters providing a wealth of information to tenth- and eleventh-grade students during an Educational Credit Management Corporation (ECMC) College Day event in early April. Students were provided personalized informational folders while learning about post-secondary opportunities such as how to choose the right college, financial aid and scholarships. Participants also entered into a drawing for three $500 scholarships, to be announced at a later date. More than 140 students participated in the event.
