Brian Stanley, left, and Fred Shumaker, representing the Cartersville Ruritan Club, recently celebrated the success of the club’s Spring Vidalia Onion Sale. The club, in a press release, offered its thanks to Blanton and Pleasants and Martin and Dabney “for allowing their stores (community gathering places) to be used for pick-up.” According to the release, Ruritans drove to Vidalia, Georgia and picked up 300 pounds of onions for the event. Ruritans sold the entire supply in two days. The funds will provide scholarships and assist families in need, according to the release. We commend the Ruritan Club for working hard for the people of Cumberland. (Send “Way to Go!” photos with a description and names to WayToGo@FarmvilleHerald.com.)
