Easter services planned

Happy birthday wishes are sent to the following: Nora Atkinson, of Dillwyn, Friday, April 7; Florence Lango, of Dillwyn, Saturday April 8; Cheryl Canipe, of Henrico, Sunday, April 9; and Wanda Albrecht, of New Canton, Thursday, April 13. Belated happy birthday wishes go out this week to Bill Humphrey, of Howardsville, and David Hawks, of Cumberland, April 2; and Katherine Featherston, of Appomattox, Tuesday April 4.
Also, congratulations to Charles and Margaret Yates, of Dillwyn, who celebrated their anniversary Saturday, April 1; David and Pat Hawks celebrated their anniversary on Sunday, April 2.
The 2017 annual spring Miles Family Reunion will be held Saturday from 1- 3 p.m. at Golden Corral in Midlothian. All family members and their guests are cordially invited to attend.
Cedar Baptist Church, located at 3932 Bell Road, Dillwyn, invites everyone to their services on Good Friday, April 14, at 7 p.m. Also, Cedar Baptist will be having an Easter Egg Hunt at the church on Saturday, April 15, at 11 a.m. Lunch will be provided. Then, on Easter morning, there will be an Easter Sunrise Service at 6 a.m. followed by breakfast in the church fellowship hall. Worship service will be at 8 a.m. when the cantata, “The King Is Coming,” will be presented. There will be no Sunday school on Easter Sunday and no 11 a.m. service. Tommy Armstrong and the entire congregation invites everyone to attend.
Shiloh New Covenant Church, located at 665 Anderson Highway, partners with the Central Virginia FeedMore Program to operate the Shiloh New Covenant Food Pantry Commodity Supplemental Food Program for seniors age 60 and older.
On Monday, from 1-3 p.m., they accept applications for new clients who are Cumberland County residents and qualify based on income. You must bring a form of ID and proof of your monthly income. Also, when you become qualified for this food program, you will be contacted by phone from the food bank director when you can start your pick up for the food.
