Primitive Technology Day is Saturday

The Historic Village at Lee Wayside is sponsoring a Primitive Technology Day on Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Featured demonstrations and hands on activities include flint knapping, long bow shooting, flintlock rifle demonstration, blacksmithing, survival building-long hunter camp, Indian relic display, tomahawk throwing, atlatl demonstration, trapping demonstration, primitive fire building and more. The Arvonia Fire Department’s Spring Auction and Car Show will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The auction will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and will feature such items as tools, furniture and donated items.
The car show will begin at noon and run until approximately 4 p.m. Awards will be given for first, second and third place in the following categories: 2000s, 1990s, 1980s, 1970s, 1960s, 1950s and 1949 and older, truck and special/race. Registration is $15 in advance and $20 day of show. Other highlights include music, food, T-shirts, prizes and a raffle. Swap meet spaces are also available for $10. The Holiday Lake 4-H Center is having a fishing camp on April 7-9 for ages 9-13. Workshops include knot tying, fishing safety, lure making and fishing in four locations. Cost is $95.

Come walk the track on Wednesday and help celebrate National Walking Day! Take a lap around the track, grab a snack and receive a ticket for a chance to win prizes. What’s all this talk about CIZE? Well, CVCHC in New Canton wants to introduce a new and easy way to lose weight without push-ups and jumping jacks. Instructor Malerie Howland will show you how to do it with simple dance moves choreographed to great music in the CIZE class. Classes are one hour and begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
