Farmville resident Alejia “Mickie” Pride Carrington received the Director’s Award from the Moton Museum staff during the museum’s annual Community Banquet, held Saturday at Longwood University. “Mickie has been an integral part of the banquet planning process for the museum for a number of years,” said Cameron Patterson, the Moton Museum’s managing director. He added that Carrington coordinates the event’s hospitality efforts, along with its volunteers who help during the event. Carrington is also an “integral part” of the museum’s programming committee, Patterson said. “She helps coordinate our prayer breakfast that we host monthly,” he offered. We commend and thank Carrington for her hard work and dedication to the museum and to the community. Pictured with Carrington is Patterson.
